Midnight Event
It was cold but dry. Lenore and Carol only walked for about 30 minutes, then returned to the start. Ed, Yahoo, and I finished up the walk.

06/23/03Cripple Creek, COCripple Creek is an old mining town up in the mountains outside Colorado Springs. It was a great walk thru the town and up the side of the mountain where there are still old mining building.
06/24/03Royal Gorge, COThe view of the Arkansas River was spectacular. Very commercialized though with lots of venders and such but if you overlook that it was great. We walked across the gorge on the bridge which I thought was going to be scarey but wasn't.

06/26/03Colorado Springs, COGarden of the Gods event. The walk was wonderful. The rock formations are amazing, the down side was we couldn,t climb all over. We did a little climbing in one area that wasn't posted but because of preservation efforts most of the rocks are off limits.

It was a rainy day. It rained on us most of the way there. It misted rain during the walk. The route was thru a grassy field, around a camping area, and through some woods. There wasn't any muddy spots. Nice walk. Pictures

Due to flooding the official route was up on sidewalks along the city street. We took that route on the way out, but on the way back we took the "closed" trail along the creek. Pictures

We walked this YRE at Lenore's request. She wanted to invite her friend Katie to come walk with us. We had great weather (72 when we started). Pictures
09/11/04Granbury, TX Walk combined some areas of the YRE and some new streets we haven't walked before. We started at the new City Hall which is a very nice building. We also had police blocking traffic for us at the major street crossings. We had great weather and a good turn out so we saw lots of people we knew. Pictures

Walk was in two loops one in a meadowlike area the other in a wooded area around the lake. Pictures
10/02/04Cherry Mountain This walk was along roads. I did not like the part along the main highway. We had misting rain and fog. Pictures
10/08/04McKittrich Canyon This 13K walk went from the McKittrick Canyon Visitors Center to the Grotto. Fairly easy walk. Great weather. Pictures
10/09/04The Bowl 15K Started at Pine Springs Visitor's Center. There were spots of sleet on top. It was clear and cold. Came back by Bear Canyon (very rough). Pictures
10/10/04Guadalupe Peak This was a steady climb up to the peak. The view from the top was terrific. Signing the book was amazing. Pictures

Walk started at city park and went into town and back. Just a nice city walk. Pictures

11/6/04Lakeway Lakeway is a community northwest of Austin on Lake Travis. The walk was along a nature trail bordering a creek. Very nice walk. Pictures

Kimble County was a new county. We had lots of rain, and even hail, but we enjoyed the walk. Pictures

12/10/04Lawton, OK This was a Friday Night walk to see the Christmas lights. We had good weather, but since we started near the end of the window there were no other walkers on the trail. Pictures

12/31/04Fredericksburg This was a Friday afternoon walk to remember those walkers who are no longer with us. It was two 5k loops with the checkpoint at St Joseph's Hall. Pictures
