Austin Historical/Capitol YRE
11/01/2008

There were no regular volksmarches this weekend in Texas. Brandy happened to read an advertisement for the Texas Book Festival which was this weekend. It would be held around the Capitol building in Austin. There were lots of authors scheduled to be there for book signings, but the one that attacted us was John Erickson. He is the author of the children's series "Hank the Cowdog". Very enjoyable reading. He would give a presentation at 12:30 and then sign his books afterwards. So we decided to do the Capitol YRE in Austin and attempt to make his presentation. We started at 10:30 and walked the route backwards. We got to the church where he was to be at 12:15. We purchased a book, enjoyed his presentation, and then got in line for the signing. It went like clockwork (for a change). We had a great walk and a fun time at the Texas Book Festival too.
