Walking in the New Year Fredericksburg, TX The Texas Volkssport Association hosts an annual wine and cheese social hour at the St. Joseph's Hall on New Year Eve followed by a 10K Volksmarch which traditionally starts right at midnight as the church bells around the city ring in the New Year. This traditional event began back in the mid 1980's and has became the highlight of the holiday walking season.  Walkers enjoy the Christmas lights on residences and on the store fronts along Main Street.
